IMPORTANT ROKENBOK NEWS
At the recent New York Toy Show, Rokenbok announced a major change to its product line. Basically, the system of vehicles with chips to connect to remote control units, is ending. If you are looking to expand recently bought starter sets, you must look for old stock on store shelves right away. Items such as train accessories, conveyors, and inventors tool kits, may be used with the new system. It is also possible to run the two systems side by side. The new vehicles are more sophisticated and need the new remote controller called “ROK Star.” You may run one vehicle at a time or up to four at the same time.
To partly compensate customers for any inconvenience, Castle Toys is offering our entire in-store stock at a 25% discount. And Castle Toys will be stocking the new vehicles and controllers as soon as they arrive.

Breyer/Castle Toys Fun Day
The Fun Day date has been set for Saturday, April 24, 2010. If there is a major conflict with this new date for our participants, please let us know here at Castle Toys right away! This is our 13th Annual Event and we want to make it biggger and better than ever. As before there will be a diorama making contest as well as a mini horse show so start thinking about your entries. There will be divisions for youths and adults. Details of the rules will be posted here soon. Also, join us as a model horse friend on Facebook.

Whether you are young or not so young, come and join in the fun. You definitely need to bring a card table and a chair. We will provide cookies and juice but you might want to bring a sandwich.
EVENTS
A Diorama Competition. Three classes by age. This event is designed so that everyone can participate and have fun. Your diorama should fit on a card table with room to spare. The store will open at 9:30 am and your set-up can start at 10:am. Judging begins at 12 noon.
Your diorama must contain at least one Breyer horse of any size. There are many other animals and products that can be used to make a scene. You will be judged on your imaginative approach and the quality of your over all art work. Customizing of models may also add points and would certainly act as a tiebreaker. Home made will earn more points than custom bought products, but your work must be neat. Remember, you don’t need a lot of tack; a pasture scene might need no tack at all .
1 Novice Class – Up to 10 yrs. !st prize is $75.00 cash. 2nd prize is any Breyer under $55.00 (Gift Card). 3rd prize is any Classic or Stablemate pkg. under $25.00 (Gift Card).
2 Junior Class – Age 11 to 16 years. First prize is $85.00 cash. 2nd prize is any Breyer under $55.00 (Gift Card). 3rd prize is any Classic or Stablemate pkg. under $25.00 (Gift Card).
3 Adult Class – Age 17 and up. 1st prize is $100.00 cash. 2nd prize is any Breyer under $75.00 (gift card). 3rd prize is any Classic or Stablemate pkg. under $25.00 (gift card).
B A Mini Horse Show. Three Classes. Judging at about 1 pm. Ribbons will be presented. The winner in each class will be able to purchase one Breyer product, to the end of 2010, at cost(wholesale) price. In the contest any size of horse can be shown. Just put your horse on the show table when the judge calls your class. It should have a hang tag provided by Castle Toys. Your name goes on the back of the tag which is then turned down. On the up side put the name of your horse.
The three classe are :1 Best Mare 2 Best Stallion 3 Best Dressed Horse. The best dressed can have any tack or/and costume .
C A special one day sale of 20% off for horses from Breyer, Stone, Hagen- renegar, Schleich, and Paradise.
D Aopportunity to buy the 2010 special event horse , Onyx. There are only 18 available at this event and probably in all of Canada.
E Many Free Raffles. Items will be provided by Castle Toys, Breyer, and other participants.
F A General Swarp Day. Everyone may bring a horse(s) or related product(s) for a buy, sell, or swarp event. This is an on-going day long event. Do some horse trading, meet new people, and have some fun.
G A Craft Event. There wil be an opportunity to paint stablemates and do other crafts. This is open to everyone including casual visitors to the store. No cost to you.
In general, be courteous to each other and to store customers who will be passing through the store. It will be crowded so don’t bump tables. Supervise your own table. Castle Toys cannot be responsible for your things. Bring any food that you might need. Do not put store products on your table. If you buy store products, they should be in a Castle Toys bag with your paid receipt. Come and compete, do a craft, meet new people, and have fun. Or you might want to just come and observe. It is a good time to see what the model horse hobby is all about.
